Kathy Rockefeller: Kathy is the Director of the Community Mediation and Restorative Dialogue Programs for the Mediation & Conflict Resolution Center at Howard Community College, in Columbia, Maryland. A member of the Maryland Bar since 1991, Ms. Rockefeller began working with the Center two years ago as the Program Coordinator. Before joining the staff, Kathy volunteered by mediating cases and helping to shape the Center's referral partnerhsip with the Howard County District Court. As Director, she works to build and maintain relationships between MCRC and its community partners, guides the community mediation and restrative dialogue services and policies, and oversees the implementation of HCC's AA Degree in Conflict Resolution.
She resides in Ellicott City with her husband and three daugthers.
Dennis Gilbert: Dennis has a BBA in Economics and an MBA in Computer Methodology. He has over 30 years in the private and public sectors as a computer scientist, IT consultant, and team member of the Malcom Baldrige National Quality Award Program. Dennis' vast professional experience includes work as a trainer of Alternatives to Violence Program, and activism in countering sexism and sex role sterotyping. In 2007, after 15 years as a volunteer mediator with the Mediation & Conflict Resolution Center (MCRC), Dennis joined the MCRC staff in a grant position to study how best to promote MCRC's services to the HCC campus community. In 2008, Dennis accepted his current position with MCRC, Program Coordinator. As Program Coordinator, Dennis handles all of MCRC's case intake and management, and coordinates its large pool of volunteer mediators.
Dennis' talents and peaceful nature also find a home in the arts where, for the past decade and continuing, Dennis also works as a professional nature and art photographer.
Lindsay J. McIlwraith Kreisher: Lindsay holds a degree in Conflict Analysis and Dispute Resolution from Salisbury University (2004), where she specialized in educational program design and implementation. A former founding partner of Peace by Peace LLC, a mediation services provider, Lindsay has been a volunteer mediator at the Mediation & Conflict Resolution Center at Howard Community College for two years. Lindsay serves the community through her work helping at-risk youth develop conflict resolution skills and increase communication and listening skills. Lindsay is an adjunct HCC faculty member teaching courses in the college's AA Degree in Conflict Resolution. In addition, Lindsay holds a six-month, grant-funded position as Campus Mediation Coordinator.
