External Use
The grand opening of Smith Theatre marks the completion of the Peter and Elizabeth Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center at HCC. The Horowitz Center has quickly become a cultural hub for Columbia and Howard County, drawing new patrons as well as new students. Along with the new facility, HCC is implementing new policies for Facilities Use. The instructional and performance venues in HCC’s Horowitz Center, including Smith Theatre, are not available as rental facilities to external organizations. Horowitz Center facilities are reserved only for HCC events, HCC Co-Sponsored events and the events of HCC Partner Organizations.
A partner organization is one which has been deemed by the HCC Arts & Humanities Division or the HCC President’s Team as a unique organization within the community, whose patrons and performers will benefit from our facilities, and whose productions, performances and events will enrich the education of current HCC arts students as well as the community we serve. Partner organizations work with HCC staff and faculty to develop true artistic and education-based relationships.
If you are inquiring about facilities use on behalf of a non-partner organization and would like information regarding alternative performance and presentation venues in the Howard County area, please contact Janelle Broderick at 410-772-4587.
