The task force will identify the skills needed for college students to be civically engaged and competitive in a global economy. The task force will also explore and recommend which topics should be integrated in all college students’ experiences and suggest ways to economically offer students the opportunity to explore their role as citizens in their local community and in the world.
Health Care Professionals
The task force will develop a list of the new health care programs that the college should consider developing and new skills that existing health care workers need to develop to remain competitive. The task force will also suggest what partnerships and other strategies can be used to support those programs.
Leading Edge Organization
The task force will consider the impact of new approaches to higher education on the college, such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology open source course module offerings, and suggest strategies to adjust accordingly. It will also consider new communication strategies (internal and external) and make recommendations for improvement to college operations.
The task force will explore potential regional, national or international partnerships and resources and assess which ones are most viable to assist the college in offerings the best programs and services to its students.
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)
The task force will develop a list of any special skill sets that the next generation of STEM majors will need to acquire to be competitive in a global economy. The task force will also explore and recommend proven strategies to attract and retain STEM majors.
The task force will explore opportunities for the college to work with others to be a good steward of the environment and also to create efficiencies in operations.
The task force will explore opportunities for the college to develop curriculum and training experiences to prepare workers for jobs over the next five years. The task force will also develop a list of skills that existing workers will need to acquire to remain competitive.
