About The Show:

Performed by an all HCC student cast, These Shining Lives follows four exceptional 1920's women who gain independence through exciting, new jobs only to discover their employment comes at a high... and poisonous price.

Their brave choices forever changed workplace rights in the United States.

Audiences will experience the journey in an exciting, unusual and fantastic, up-close and personal way in HCC's Smith Theatre!  Limited seating (on stage!) -- reserve tickets early!

About the Director:
Brandon McCoy is a professional actor/director/educator originally from Huntington, WV. His work has been seen at numerous theatre companies in the area including Rep Stage, Round House, Theater J, Studio Theatre, Studio Theatre 2nd Stage, Forum Theatre, Olney Theatre Center, No Rules Theatre Company, Theatre Alliance, The Bay Theatre, and many more. He is an adjunct professor of theatre here at HCC as well as Catholic University, American University, and Harford Community College.  He holds an MFA in acting from Catholic University and a BFA in acting/directing from Marshall University. Brandon is also an accomplished musician and stand-up comedian.

About the Playwright:
Melanie Marnich's plays include Quake, Blur, Tallgrass Gothic, Beautiful Again These Shining Lives and Cradle of Man, which will receive its world premiere at Florida Stage, and was a finalist for the Susan Smith Blackburn Award. Blur received its world premiere Off-Broadway at Manhattan Theatre Club and also won the Francesca Primus Prize from Denver Center Theatre. Quake and Tallgrass Gothic have premiered at the Actors Theatre of Louisville's Humana Festival of New American Plays. Her awards include two McKnight Advancement Grants and two Jerome Fellowships from The Playwrights' Center, the Samuel Goldwyn Award, an Ohio Arts Council Grant and the Selma Melvoin Award from Northlight Theatre. Her plays have been produced/developed at New York's Public Theater, London's Royal Court Theatre, the Guthrie Theater, Arena Stage, The O'Neill Theatre Conference, Dallas Theater Center, Portland Center Stage, Geva Theatre, Hyde Park Theatre, American Theatre Company, HERE and Denver Center for the Arts. She has also received commissions from the Guthrie Theater, La Jolla Playhouse, Children's Theatre of Cincinnati, Children's Theatre Company of Minneapolis and Mixed Blood Theatre.
