Other Necessary Information...

The Art Gallery Advisory Committee reviews the work of artists on an ongoing basis for possible invitations to exhibit.  Artists will be invited based on quality, variety of exhibits, and relevance to the college art program.  Artists that have exhibited with us are encouraged to apply, but will not be considered for more than one exhibit every three years.

The gallery charges a 20% commission on works sold from the exhibition or commissioned as a result of the exhibition.  All sales transactions for works in the show are made through the gallery.  At the time of the sale, the Maryland state sales tax (5%) is added to the sale price.  The gallery requires from the artist either a social security number or a federal identification number for the sale of artwork.  The sales will be processed through our business office after the exhibit is down.

The HCC art gallery will produce, at no cost to the artist, a postcard mailer publicizing the show.  The mailer is sent to our mailing list and to the artist's mailing lists (up to 150 names).  In addition, we will send a press packet on the show to newspapers in the Baltimore-Washington metropolitan area.  The show will also be publicized over the Internet in our HCC online art gallery.  We will host and cover the expenses of an artist's reception.  Artist must send a photograph, typed artist's statement and/or biographical information, and mailing list to the gallery director at least six weeks prior to the opening of the show.
