Open to a limit of six pre-formed intermediate to advanced level groups preferably with performance-ready repertoire.  Depending on the number enrolled, an audition may be held.  At no additional charge, string workshop participants under the age of 18 (as of June 30, 2008) are also strongly recommended to take part in the MI Serious Strings & Orchestra during the camp week of June 23 – June 27.

Duo/Trio—Strings, any instrument with piano (may include strings, brass, or woodwinds)

            Quartet/Quintet—Strings, any instrument with piano (may include strings, brass, or woodwinds)

Workshop Fee--$220 per person ($10 Music Institute administrative fee included) for 4 one-hour coachings and one masterclass of a pre-formed group from June 3, 2008 to June 28, 2008.  This fee should be paid in full at the time of registration by June 1, 2008.  Possible outreach performing opportunities will be offered.

Interested groups please contact Dr. Benjamin Myers ASAP at bmyers@howardcc.edu.  Individual instrumentalists who do not have a pre-formed group must contact Dr. Myers (preferably by May 17, 2008) to be put on a waiting list to form a possible chamber group.  There will be no guarantee you will be placed in a group.
