How to RegisterEasy Steps to Register for lessons and classes at the Music Institute at HCC:
1. Contact the Music Institute Office at (410)772-4297 or (410)772-4871 or musicinstitute@howardcc.edu or visit website at www.howardcc.edu/visitors/musicinstitute for general information.
2. Fill out registration Form and Student Information Sheet and with appropriate fees and return to Music Institute Office at:
New Students
New Students: A Student Information Sheet must be completed and returned to the Music Institute at HCC with a Registration Form. They will be kept on file in the Music Institute office.
New Students must apply to the Music Institute at HCC by completing the student registration form and returning it with a Student Information Sheet and a one time only $25.00 nonrefundable application fee to the Music Institute office.

Returning Students
Returning students must complete the student registration form and return it to the Music Institute office. Students should confer with their current teachers about scheduling lessons for the following session. Use the Student Information Sheet to change or update information.

3. Student is contacted by office personnel/teacher for scheduling and tuition payment plan.
4. Tuition payment is made at the Cashier's Office.
5. Lessons begin.
Students may register at any time during the year. Tuition is prorated if lessons begin after the start of a session. However, to expedite the registration process and secure your first choice for teacher, lesson days and times, please register early.
How to register for class and individual lessons
Music Institute staff and faculty take great care in placing students with teachers in order to ensure that the student is placed with the most appropriate instructor and will progress and thrive in his/her musical studies.
Fully completing the registration form is most helpful in understanding the wants and needs of each student. In addition to conferring with Music Institute staff, our voice, piano, and string students are then referred to the heads of each department for further assessing and gathering of appropriate placement information.
All students must register and have a current registration form on file in the Music Institute office for every semester during which they are studying. Registration forms are found in the student catalog/handbook, the Music Institute office, the Arts and Humanities Division office, the HCC Welcome Center, the Continuing Education office(Hickory Ridge Building) and on the Music Institute website. Upon receipt of the completed registration form with appropriate fee, Music Institue personnel will contact the student, refer student to a department head or teacher for scheduling, and initiate billing procedures. ALL MUSIC INSTITUTE STUDENTS MUST HAVE A CURRENT REGISTRATION FORM AND STUDENT INFORMATION SHEET ON FILE IN THE MUSIC INSTITUTE OFFICE.
