Preparatory Department
The preparatory department is designed to teach and guide the music studies of students under the age of 18 years. Lessons and classes for children are designed and taught to introduce and develop younger students into the world of music. Lessons are individualized and classes encourage self-expression in a group setting. The need of students wanting to play in groups has given rise to our unique and varied ensemble program. Students’ interests and talents are nurtured to provide opportunities for competitions and further musical advancement, if desired. Many performance opportunities are available, including Preparatory Recitals and Competition Prep Recitals.
Adult/Continuing Education
Interest in and a desire to learn about music does not stop at age 18 but the focus can be different. With that in mind, we have created lessons, classes and ensembles for students over the age of 18 years. Whether you want to start private lessons for the first time, take up an instrument you haven’t played since high school, or just make music and friends, the Music Institute has many opportunities to learn, play and perform music.
