Howard Community College strongly believes that it is in the best interest of the college, its faculty and students, and the citizens of Howard County to take affirmative action to employ and to advance in employment qualified individuals and eliminate bias based on ethnicity, race, physical or mental disability, or gender in an effort to promote diversity and inclusion throughout the college.

In addition, the college will go beyond avoiding overt discrimination and will, through educational programs, help faculty and staff to become aware of and to recognize more covert and subtle forms of discrimination and to remove those institutional barriers to equality.
